Supported phones

GeoShrine requires a phone or PDA with Java and optionally GPS. Below are the api packages that are required for the program to run. Most phones less than 3-4 years old should be able to meet these requirements.

 - Required: MIDP 2.0 + CLDC 1.1
 - Required: JSR-75 (FileConnection Optional Package 1.0)
 - Required: JSR-172 (Web Services Specification)
 - Optional: JSR-179 (Location API)

The application has been successfully tested on a wide range of phones from Sony Ericsson, Nokia, HTC etc.

Performance

Loading cachefiles may be a time consuming task, especially on older phones. Here is a chart that displays times for various phones reading the same two .gpx files. Please report your observations or receive the test .gpx file to create comparable results.
